Costa Surface
The Costa surface was discovered in 1982 by Costa and proven to be embedded by Hoffman and Meeks in 1985. It has one planar and two catenoidal ends, two straight horizontal lines on it. The picture to the right shows it dissected into fundamental pieces by its symmetries. Each of the pieces is a graph over a suitable plane.
