The only embedded doubly periodic minimal surfaces with parallel ends and genus 1 in the quotient belong to a 3-dimensional family, discovered by Karcher and Meeks-Rosenberg,
The limits of the shown subfamily are two copies of the doubly periodic Scherk surface, glued together, or a singly periodic Scherk surface.
